Do I need an account?
No. ElementWise has no accounts or sign-in. Your progress is saved on your iPhone.
Will my progress move to a new phone?
Your progress is stored on your device. It comes with you if you restore your new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one. Deleting the app erases your progress.
How do I start over?
On the Learn tab, tap the gear at the top left to open Settings, then tap Reset progress.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
In the app's Settings, use the Notifications switch. You'll get at most one a day (a streak reminder, a fun fact question or a progress update), and none on days you've already done a lesson. If they don't arrive, check that notifications are allowed for ElementWise in your iPhone's Settings app.
How do I stop the fun fact pop-ups?
In the app's Settings, switch off Fun fact pop-ups.
Can I skip lessons I already know?
When you first open the app, choose "I know a few" or "I know a lot" to take a quick placement quiz. You can also take any test on the Learn path at any time.
What does it cost?
ElementWise is free to download, with no ads. The free version includes the first 20 elements (Learn units 1 and 2), flashcards for elements 1 to 18, Find it for 1 to 20, and the whole periodic table. A one-time purchase, "Unlock all 118", opens everything else: units 3 to 9, all four tests, and Flashcards and Find it for every element. There is no subscription.
I bought the full version. How do I get it on a new phone?
Sign in with the same Apple ID, open Settings in the app (the gear on the Learn screen) and tap "Restore purchase". Family Sharing is on, so family members can restore it too.
